God's Unbending Principles
Aligning Before Moving Forward
Beloved friend,
As I was reading my Bible recently, I came across Exodus 4:24-28, and it struck me deeply. This passage describes a moment when Moses, on his way to Egypt to fulfill his divine mission, was confronted by God because his son was not circumcised. This act of circumcision was a sign of the covenant between God and His people. Moses' wife, Zipporah, quickly intervened by circumcising their son, after which God allowed Moses to continue.
Friend,
This passage highlights a crucial lesson: God's principles are unwavering. Before Moses could lead the Israelites, he needed to align himself and his family with God's commands. It wasn't enough for Moses to be chosen; he had to demonstrate obedience to God's established covenant.
In our own lives, whether we are stepping into a new role, embarking on a personal project, or seeking spiritual growth, alignment with God's principles is essential. There are times when we face moments of confrontation, where God pauses our progress to address areas of compromise or neglect. These moments can be challenging, but they are necessary for our growth and preparation.
Consider how this applies beyond just our calling. In our daily decisions, relationships, and personal integrity, we are called to uphold God's standards. It could be in how we conduct our business, the honesty we maintain in our interactions, or the purity of our thoughts and actions. Each area of our life should reflect our commitment to God's unbending principles.
God's demands may seem strict, but they are rooted in His love and desire for our best. By setting things right, we open ourselves to His blessings and guidance. It’s a process of refining that shapes us into vessels fit for His use.
Let's embrace these divine confrontations with humility and a willingness to change. Aligning with God's principles isn't just about major life callings; it's about everyday faithfulness. It's in the small, consistent steps of obedience that we find ourselves prepared for greater purposes.
Remember, God's principles are firm because His love for us is firm. He wants us to be fully aligned with Him, not just in big decisions, but in every aspect of our lives. Let's commit to setting things right, knowing that in doing so, we honor God and position ourselves for the path He has laid out for us.
With thoughts of kindness,
