Tranquil Truths
Embracing Stillness and the Goodness of God
Beloved Friend,
Hello! I hope it isn’t too late to wish you a warm welcome to April! How’s your year shaping up so far? You can comment your replies cause I would be delighted to read from you.
Well, I’ll go first. My year has been quite calm with just a sprinkle of drama in the first quarter, part of which has inspired today’s letter. I still have so much I’m looking forward to, and it’s my birth month, so I’m super expectant for the newness that comes with this season. There’s so much available in God that I look forward to enjoying, and I’m just loving up on God as I should.
Have you ever encountered people who can’t seem to sit still and are prone to fidget even in little things? I’m talking about people who can’t seem to get their hands off their hair while you style it, people who turn every direction while waiting in line at an ATM stand or bank, colleagues sitting through a meeting or lecture that constantly play with their pens, those sitting at a desk that keep tapping their feet or drumming their fingers, siblings watching TV and they keep adjusting their position or playing with the remote control, or it could be people getting really anxious about what you would consider to be trivial around you?
If you have ever encountered such people or you’re constantly around them, then you would understand the feeling of exasperation that often comes from being with them. You can’t help but ponder on these thoughts “Would it hurt to just sit still for a while?” “Can you just relax a little bit and stop being anxious?” “Your hair would still come out nice if you would just take your hands off and let me do a fantastic job".
Couple of disclaimers real quick. ‼️ 🚨 I’m not saying people who fidget are inherently bad. Fidgeting itself is not necessarily bad; it can even be a natural way individuals release excess energy or manage stress. However, it often becomes a coping mechanism for underlying anxiety issues.
You would agree with me that anxiety is one emotion that we’ve all experienced at different point in time. While some have it harder than others, its one emotion that we’ve cannot seem to escape from. Well, not to worry as I’m here with a solution. 🥁 Drumroll.
Hear me out! This one solution has been tested and trusted and it isn’t Adaba or Omo Osun Herbal Mixture which you might try to question its potency (even though people swear by it and use it religiously). I’m not writing to give you reasons to question their potency but rather to bring your attention to that which is true and ever potent, the WORD OF GOD.
“Be still and know that I am God” Psalms 46:10a is God’s Word for you this season. Meditating on this scripture will do you more good than medicine.
It’s no news that we’re in perilous times and things are as difficult as they get. We have various plans for our lives and often times they do not go as we have planned. Sometimes, we even receive a sure word of prophecy from God but we can’t help but want to fast track God’s work in our lives.
Is your biological clock is ticking and you’re not even in a relationship talk more of getting married? You can seem to go past a certain stage in life and it seems as though those you left behind are fast catching up? Are you saddled with the responsibility of making things work in your life and others seem to be living a life of ease? Are people beginning to question God in your life cause your life isn’t showing the goodness of God (by the world’s standard) that you constantly preach .
Whatever the issue is, can you take your hands off the steering wheel and allow God drive you? We get so wrapped up in trying to solve our own problems and deal with our life's situations that we forget about God.
We forget to acknowledge God and many times, we fail to be quiet, to be still and listen to God.
We fail to let go of control and let God take over and not only reassure us that He is God, but allow Him to show us He is God.
“Be Still” is God telling you to cease striving and acknowledge who your God is. Trust me when I say I know how hard it is to just take your hands off and give Him full control. Especially when you feel you can set things in motion since God is taking quite a while in doing so.
You can also trust me when I say, God’s way is actually more profitable. He doesn’t have a record of failing and your case is too small to tag Him as a God who fails.
I’ll leave you with this scripture: Psalm 37:7 (NIV) “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him.” Friend, you can comfortably cast your cares on Him for He cares for you.
You would have noticed that the anchor scripture says “Be still and know that I am God”. Friend do not be deceived, only those that know their God will do exploits. Only those that genuinely believe in Him can rest in His majesty while He works wonders with their lives.
If you do not know this God or you’ve wandered off the narrow path, I’ll like you to say this simple prayer…
Father, I recognize my need for You in my life. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I ask for Your forgiveness and invite You to be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
If you said this prayer, you can reach out to me so I can pray with you and also strengthen you with the Word or books from time to time. Connect with me here
Have an amazing week friend and keep being a beacon of light, till I come your way again.
With thoughts of kindness,
Abba’s Shofar.

My year is panning out really well, thank you. Beautiful how my Pastor took us through the series of meditation for three Sundays and we also had a q&a yesterday in church. The scripture makes so much sense when you pick a portion and meditate on it, which I have been doing. Also, many times, we love to help God out forgetting He's got times and seasons. God help us! It's so beautiful reading from you, Abba's Shofar. Thank you for looking into the heart of the Father- truly a shofar. God bless you!
Thank you for this timely reminder. So timely. Refreshing. As this is a confirmation to God's Speaking to me personally this evening. God bless you. Thank you for yielding to God to bring this to us.
